Garvan Woodland Gardens

GARVAN WOODLAND GARDENS is an example of The Natural State at its finest. On an afternoon walk, the sun streaks through the canopy of trees, dances along the paved paths and illuminates native flora and fauna. Located on a peninsula on Lake Hamilton, Garvan is surrounded by shoreline and Ouachita Mountain scenery. The history of this place is rooted in its namesake and benefactor Verna Cook Garvan. It was her wish to preserve its unique features, so people could use the gardens for enjoyment and education. If she could see it now, she would see the mission is being carried out every day through programs and workshops in partnership with the University of Arkansas. From architecture and design to award-winning gardens and a bird sanctuary, Garvan offers breathtaking sights (and great photo ops) at every turn. In the winter, it also hosts one of the largest displays of holiday lights, making it a major destination year-round.

Anthony Chapel

With its signature E. Fay Jones cross-lattice wood- work, its floor-to-ceiling glass walls and the way it stands nearly six stories tall under Southern pines and age-old oaks, it’s easy to see why Anthony Chapel has been named one of the coolest places to get married in Arkansas.
