Lake Catherine
JUST MINUTES from Hot Springs, Lake Catherine is a retreat into the wilderness and onto the water. Bring a fishing boat or a couple of kayaks, and find a quiet cove to call your own. There’s plenty of wide-open space for boating and water sports too. Along the lakeshore is Lake Catherine State Park with 20 cabins, 70 campsites, a rent-a-camp and a yurt for over- night stays. Start the morning with a brisk hike to Falls Creek Falls, the park’s picturesque waterfall, then rent a boat from the marina. With its proximity to the Spa City, it’s easy to spend the day on the water, then head into town for a nice dinner.
